Who’s Protecting Your Investment?

ABC Termite & Pest Control and DuVal & Payne Exterminating are full service companies; taking pride in our signature treatments. Established in 1960 and 1956 respectively, the merger of the two companies became effective in October 2007. ABC and DuVal & Payne were established as family businesses changing hands outside the family only once, to the current CEO, Don Lenegar .

Don knew the vision he had for his own company when taking the reins of ABC upon the retirement of then CEO, Charlie Nissen, in 1998. In 2007 when Dickie Allen, CEO of DuVal & Payne, decided the time for retirement was at hand, the merger of the two companies was logical. Dickie and Don had known each other and worked closely together since the early 1980’s. Don is an intricate part of the day to day operation of both companies under the ABC umbrella.  He is often seen crawling out from under homes, assisting our technical staff with trouble spots on accounts, or enhancing the training of our new pest management professionals with his 25 + years of technical expertise dealing with pest management and moisture issues relative to the Hampton Roads area. Taking the best service ideas that both companies have to offer, allows us to provide you with the best possible customer service available. Don also lends his expertise to the Tidewater Pest Control Association (TPCA) as the local Grievance Committee Chairman for 6 years; 2 years as Vice President; and currently as President.  He also serves on the Virginia Pest Management Association (VPMA) board as both the Liaison between VPMA and TPCA; and on the VPMA Safety Committee.

Our technical and office staffs are trained in the most current methods available.  New pest management professionals are required to meet certain training benchmarks within specific periods of time.  This shows their willingness to learn new treatment methods and ideas in this ever evolving industry.  According to Don, “I am very proud of my employees and instill a lot of trust in them.  I know I am not the easiest employer to work for, I have high standards, good work ethics, and expect no less from my employees.  I also firmly believe that all of our customers should be treated with the same respect and dignity we would want others to treat us; in my opinion that is what makes this company successful. Without everyone’s combined efforts and talents we might as well close the door.”

Bedbugs Infesting Residential and Multifamily Homes, Apartment

Complexes, Residence Halls, Hospitals and Hotels

2/10/2010 (Virginia Beach, VA.) – According to the National Pest Management Association, pest control companies are reporting a significant increase in the number of calls regarding bedbug infestations. Renowned hitchhikers, bedbugs catch rides in luggage, shoes, pant hems and any other mobile material. Although there is no way to determine the actual cause of the resurgence, experts are attributing the increase to several things, which include global travel and the mobility of the pest.
