Homeowners can do certain things to aid in creating homes that are unappealing to termites in the following ways:

Eliminate all earth-wood contact around the outside of your home.
Mulch should not be piled up to the bottom of the vinyl or wood siding on your home.
Firewood should not be stored on patios right against the house.
Have regular inspections performed by qualified, licensed Pest Management Professionals(PMPs).
Keep all plumbing in good repair to prevent leaking water from attracting termites.
Keep adequate ventilation through the homes crawl space.
